I Art Kwanzaa
I Art Kwanzaa is a week-long community event that uses the power of creative and expressive arts to celebrate and highlight the beauty of the cultural holiday, Kwanzaa and learn about its principles and stories. Kwanzaa is a time for families and communities to come together to remember the past and to celebrate culture.
Throughout the week, community members will experience original performances, art-making workshops, cultural cuisine, panel discussions and so much more. Each day is designed to celebrate the joy of the holidays and the power of connectivity.

Write It Out
Art Prevails Project hosts monthly writing workshops for the community leading up to our Festival of Words in April 2025.
Each workshop will feature exercises that explore community and identity and give participants the opportunity to creatively express their thoughts, emotions and experiences.
At the end of the workshop experience, some participants will have the opportunity to share their work at the culminating festival.
These artists will receive an honorarium for their participation in the festival.

An Evening with Jericho Brown
Join us for a cozy night filled with poetry and conversation featuring Jericho Brown, Pulitzer Prize-winning poet
As part of the Our Voices: Festival of Words weekend, Pulitzer Prize-winner Jericho Brown wil join us.
Mr. Brown will offer a brief poetry reading and engage in conversation with writer and storyteller, Nadege Green.
An Evening With will also feature the debut readings of the finalists from our Of House and Home playwriting contest.

The 50th Anniversary of Hip Hop serves as the soundtrack for this multidisciplinary journey of the rhythms and rhymes of life, love and everything in-between. The latest in the Art Prevails Project's annual series, A Hip Hop Love Story takes the 'theatrical mixtape' to its next level while taking the audience on a journey of beats, rhymes, and life.

Through simple moments and complex emotions, a universal humanity is revealed and woven together with poetry, music and dance. Written and directed by Darius V. Daughtry and featuring some of South Florida’s finest talent, The Happening: A Theatrical, Volume IV: Black Like He is a journey filled with joy, struggle, love and truth.
